This course provides essential knowledge and skills for all healthcare professionals caring for patients with hypertension and heart failure in nursing homes and care facilities in community settings.

Who can Attend:

This course is suitable for community clinicians,  practice nurses and pharmacists. 

Pre Requisites

  • Work in a nursing home, care facility or community
  • Have a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology of the heart.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Have an understanding of basic anatomy of the heart.
  • Recognise common cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension 
  • Provide an overview of hypertension and heart failure
Explore how to identify that a persons condition is worsening and when to alert a senior healthcare professional
