Session Aims
This update will explore latest guidance on managing common minor illness presentations in general practice, the community, walk in centre’s and urgent care.
 

Session Objective

Update knowledge of changes in practice and current guidelines in managing common minor ailments.

Develop a systematic approach during clinical decision making.

Develop skills in identifying red flags when seeing and treating minor ailments.

Dr Parmy Deol

Dr Parmy Deol, A&E consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and dual trained GP. Dr Deol leads the urgent care centre at Chelsea and teaches extensively on innovative methods of practice. Dr Deol provides training on blood results interpretation and teaches on the minor illness modules. His othe teachings include training on point of care ultrasound to support diagnosis in primary care.

Dr Jose Crespo

Dr Crespo is a UK trained GP and consults privately at Chelsea & Westminister hospital private outpatients floor and 20 Harley Street. He offers personalised care to individuals and families treating acute illnesses as well as chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, anxiety and depression. He is passionate about preventative medicine and continuity of care and believes in the importance of regular health checks, mental well being, adequate exercise and proper nutrition.

He is an Associate of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine and offers aesthetic treatments on a selective basis when he thinks these might have a beneficial therapeutic effect.

He is a GP tutor and examiner for OSCE and PACES for Imperial College School of Medicine. He has gained broad experience in both NHS and private practice and has in-depth knowledge of the NHS system.
