This session will update your knowledge around current guidelines when prescribing for children in general practice, primary care and urgent care settings. Taught by 2 paediatric consultants and a GP. Session will explore antimicrobial guidelines for children, prescribing in GI, Skin, ENT and Respiratory disorders.

Who should attend

Nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, non medical prescribers, paramedics, physician associates and practice nurses and GP’s.

Session Aims

To update your knowledge of changes in prescribing guidelines for children in primary care.

Objectives

  1. Explore current guidelines for prescribing in primary care.
  2. Recognise common rashes and how to treat using a stepwise approach.
  3. Develop skills in  management of common respiratory conditions in children.
  4. Recognise importance of careful assessment and prescribing in ear conditions in children in primary care and when to refer.
