Who should Attend
This update is for nurses, doctors, paramedics, pharmacists and allied health professionals who want to update their knowledge of specific conditions such as Parkinson’s and Dementia.
Session Aims
This session will increase your awareness of early symptoms of dementia and Parkinson disease and also explores use of restraint in nursing homes.
Session Objectives
At the end of this session you will:
- Update knowledge of early signs and symptoms of dementia and Parkinson’s disease in nursing homes
- Recognise symptoms indicating a worsening of the condition and identify appropriate resources available to support management strategies.
- Have an opportunity to discuss common concerns through interactive participation and questioning of lecturers who are specialists in each area.
- Have an understanding of the law as it applies to patient restraint in the UK.
