Neil Humber – Paramedic Lecturer

Neil Humber

Paramedic Lecturer

I am an Advanced Paramedic and Independent Non‑Medical Prescriber with extensive experience across urgent care, primary care, pre‑hospital emergency medicine, and clinical leadership. I currently work full‑time as a Paramedic Practitioner for ESNEFT while also operating as a freelance clinician through my own limited company. My role involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of minor illness and injury, coordinating patient flow, and working closely with senior management to support safe and effective departmental operations.

With over 15 years of combined voluntary and professional experience, beginning as a Community First Responder and St John Ambulance volunteer, I have developed a deep commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate care. I am confident, adaptable, and able to make sound clinical and operational decisions under pressure, whether in frontline environments or managerial roles. Integrity, professionalism, and patient‑centred practice underpin everything I do.

I maintain strong communication skills and a calm, measured approach, even when dealing with distressing, complex, or high‑risk situations. I recognise my professional boundaries while demonstrating resilience, physical stamina, and emotional intelligence. Supporting others is a core part of my practice; I take pride in mentoring colleagues, contributing to team development, and fostering a positive working culture.
