The Minor Illness: Women’s Health Update is a 6-hour CPD-accredited online course designed to strengthen clinical confidence and update healthcare professionals on essential women’s health topics. Course Modules
Module 1: Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB)
This module explains the main types of AUB and how to assess them. You will learn how to take a focused history, choose suitable tests and use ultrasound when needed.
In addition, it guides you through first-line treatments, contraceptive options, red flags and referral pathways. Short case examples are included to support practical learning.
Module 2: Contraception Update
This lesson reviews the full range of contraceptive options, including hormonal methods, LARC and emergency contraception.
It also covers risks, benefits, interactions and how to tailor choices for different patients. Finally, you will learn the most recent updates from FSRH guidance.
Module 3: Menopause & Perimenopause
This module outlines the hormonal changes of menopause and explains how symptoms present across the phases.
You will explore treatments such as HRT and non-hormonal options, and you will learn how to discuss risks and benefits clearly with patients.
In addition, the module looks at long-term health effects including bone, heart and mental health. It also summarises key NICE and BMS updates.
