This course provides essential knowledge and skills for all healthcare professionals seeing and treating patients with hypertension and heart failure in general practice.

  • Work in general practice
  • Have a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology of the heart.

  • Recognise common cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension 
  • Provide an overview of hypertension
  • Explore current national guidelines.
  • Discuss importance of lifestyle interventions.
  • Explore management of hyperlipidaemia in general practice.
  • Provide and overview of heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
  • Overview of treatment options.
