In a significant stride towards enhancing the visibility of rare diseases, Jeshni Amblum-Almer, Course Director at Belmatt Healthcare Training, chaired the “Medically Unexplained Symptoms Conference” held in London on May 1, 2024. This event, hosted by the Forgotten Patients Charity with notable contributions and sponsorship from Belmatt Healthcare Training, underscored the critical need for increasing awareness of rare diseases to improve their identification and recognition when patients consult their medical clinicians.
The conference brought together a diverse panel of speakers, including voices from the patient community, expert clinicians, and allied health professionals. Their collective insights provided a rich blend of perspectives, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative approach in healthcare. Moreover, discussions delved into how AI and digital technology are evolving as essential tools in supporting diagnostics.
