As 2025 begins, we start the New Year, here at Belmatt Healthcare Training, we want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made last year, share some exciting updates, and express our gratitude for your continued support. Healthcare continues to evolve as our roles within a dynamic workforce require flexibility and continuos education to meet the needs of service users and ensure we remain safe practitioners.
Our 2024 Highlights
This year has been a landmark for Belmatt, with the successful launch of several new courses and initiatives aimed at empowering healthcare professionals working in primary care settings and taking on advanced roles.
- Minor Illness Course: Our flagship course continues to thrive, equipping clinicians with essential skills for primary care. This course provides flexible learning and is delivered as a live webinar, face to face classroom session or eLearning module for those who wish to pace their learning and prefer self-directed study. Each module can also be accessed as a stand-alone session.
- Workshops for Nurses in Palliative Care: Tailored sessions focusing on anatomy, physiology, and community-based practice for palliative care nurses. We will be running a series of workshops for palliative care nurses.
- Physical Examination and Assessment Courses: Hands-on workshops providing invaluable training for professionals preparing for advanced clinical roles. This practical course has proven popular for clinicians who wish to update their skills in examination and assessment of the various body systems.
- Advanced Practice Programme: This comprehensive programme This is an extensive programme of learning to prepare experienced practice nurses to work in advanced roles in general practice and primary care
Welcome to Our Team
We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Chipo and Keya who joined the Belmatt Healthcare Training team. Their incredible energy and passion for fostering excellence in healthcare education have already made a significant impact.
We also extend a warm welcome to our new lecturers, who bring a wealth of clinical expertise and teaching experience, ensuring our courses remain cutting-edge and relevant to modern healthcare demands.
Updates
2024 has been a year of significant advancements:
- Asthma Management Updates: The 2024 GINA guidelines introduced personalised therapy recommendations, explored in-depth by Ameet Gordhan during our recent sessions. This session is now available online by clicking on this link. Understanding the latest GINA Guidelines.
- Red Flags in Headaches: This practical update by A&E consultant Dr Parmy Deol explores red flags in headache presentations.
- Eczema and Food Intolerances in Children: The gut plays a big role in health and skin diseases, especially inflammatory diseases. This popular recording of a live webinar by paediatrician Dr Jai Ghanapathy and Dr Varun Kumar discusses the link between food intolerances and eczema and recognising rashes in children, especially in darker skin tones.
- Assisted Dying Bill: This milestone legislation has sparked diverse opinions among healthcare professionals. We invite your comments and reflections on this sensitive topic—email us to share your thoughts.
Making a Difference Together
A heartfelt thank you for supporting our recent charity sessions. Your contributions have provided Christmas meals for an orphanage and a nursing home, and your ongoing support helps fund our feeding kitchen, which provides sandwiches to around 300 school children daily
Special thanks to Dr Sam Thanabadau, Aneela Tehseen, Ameet Gordhan, Dr Parmy Deol, and Dr Jay Verma for volunteering their time and donating their session fees to support this vital cause.
