Course Description
This Basic Life Support (BLS) course is an update for healthcare professionals. Delivered by Roger Hoare, an experienced BLS trainer, this hands-on training session follows the latest UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines (2021). Participants will learn CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), defibrillator (AED) usage, and emergency response techniques for adults, children, and infants. This course is ideal for healthcare professionals and first-aiders.

Course Aims This BLS training course aims to: ✔ Provide participants with the skills and confidence to perform CPR and life-saving techniques. ✔ Educate on early recognition of cardiac arrest and emergency response activation. ✔ Teach the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in line with the latest guidelines. ✔ Develop practical first aid skills for choking, recovery position, and unconscious casualties.
Learning Outcomes
- By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest and initiate immediate CPR.
- Perform high-quality chest compressions and rescue breaths on adults, children, and infants.
- Use an AED safely and effectively to increase survival rates.
- Apply the recovery position for unconscious breathing casualties.
- Respond to choking emergencies with correct back blows and abdominal thrusts.
- Understand current UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines (2021) for Basic Life Support.
