Assisting with Medical Procedures – E-learning Module for Healthcare Assistants
This interactive e-learning module is designed for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), nurse associates, admin staff and HCSW’s, working in general practice, outpatient clinics, and community healthcare settings. It provides essential knowledge and practical guidance to support assisting during medical procedures.
The course covers key responsibilities including informed consent, patient advocacy, maintaining dignity and confidentiality, infection control (with a focus on ANTT), health and safety considerations, specimen handling, equipment and waste management, and post-procedure support including wound care and dressings and a session on chaperoning.
Learners will engage with real-life scenarios, demonstrations, and knowledge checks to reinforce learning and build confidence in clinical practice.
